Bicher

The Bicher fish (often referred to as Bichir) is a type of ancient, freshwater fish native to Africa. It belongs to the family Polypteridae and is known for its distinctive appearance, with a long, cylindrical body, armored scales, and multiple dorsal finlets. Bichirs are considered “living fossils,” as they have existed for over 300 million years.
